25 February 2009 Coronation Gold Cup Saved

The Coronation Gold Cup, one of Point-to-Point racing's four Classic races, which was lost to the weather when the United Services meeting at Larkhill on February 7th was abandoned, has been rescheduled.

The race will now take place as the third race on the card at the New Forest Point-to-Point at Larkhill on Saturday, 14th March 2009, replacing the Mixed Open race initially scheduled. The prize money, however, will be as published for the original Mixed Open on the card: 1st - £220; 2nd - £120; 3rd - £60.

The conditions for the race will remain the same as published for the United Services meeting. i.e. it is an Order of Excellence Classic race, with the same weights and no penalties.
