HORSEHEATH, Cambridgeshire. (1972) RH
Location: 4m W of Haverhill on A604 (Exits 9 or 10, M11). CB21 4QF. view map
Area: East Anglia
Meeting(s): Cambridgeshire with Enfield Chace (1) - Sunday, 05 February 2012; Thurlow - Saturday, 03 March 2012; Puckeridge - Saturday, 31 March 2012
Course Summary: Undulating galloping course of over three miles; start in chute; uphill finish; fences big, well built and inviting; 1st (must be the widest in the country) and 10th jumped only once, 6th (taken downhill) causes most problems; chalk subsoil drains well, but can become holding in back straight. Plenty of room for parking. Viewing excellent from hill towards open ditch although a fair trek from facilities. Probably East Anglia's premier course. Usually has a (rather loud!) funfair.
Top Riders: R. Burton 7, D. Kemp 7, Miss L. Allan 5, Miss G. Andrews 5, A. Braithwaite 5, J. Owen 5
