Leading four-year-old Pointer Grand Award, plus Grade One winning mares and a plethora of exciting young talent, make up the bulk of a quality catalogue that has been put together for the DBS August Sales on the 4th & 5th of August 2009.
The sale contains a diverse selection of 550 Flat and National Hunt Horses in Training, National Hunt Stores, National Hunt Yearlings and regally bred Mares that are sure to fill the orders of all purchasers looking for racing or breeding prospects on the flat or over jumps.
GRAND AWARD (88), pictured left, is an exciting prospect after showing that he possesses both speed and stamina at just four years of age. Consigned by Hackness Villa Stables, the son of INDIAN DANEHILL comes from a good French National Hunt family and was the seven length winner of a Point-to-Point at Bangor-on-Dee earlier this year before winning a Bumper in impressive fashion at the beginning of July. He is sure to have a big future ahead of him and is joined by fellow four-year-old PRINCE OF MILAN (105), who will be consigned by Meadowview Stables and was a close second on his debut over 2m 4f before winning at the second attempt when racing over three miles at Belclare in Ireland.
Loughanmore Farms are regular vendors at DBS and they will offer three recent Point to Point winners including FORESTSIDE (107) who was the impressive winner of a 4-Year-Old Maiden at Ballingarry; KINGSMOSS (108) who was a ten length winner of 4-Year-Old Maiden at Taylorstown and GOLDEN VIEW (125) who also won at Taylorstown.
Bumper form is an early indication that a horse has plenty of speed and Fforest Farm Stables will offer THE JIGSAW MAN (123), who is out of a half sister to the Grade 2 winning STORMYFAIRWEATHER and won on his only start, whilst Hanging Hill Stables will consign SONNY MULLEN (67) who also won on his only start. These are joined by DUMITAS (140), who is offered by Camas Park Stud after winning a Bumper at the beginning of July whilst Templeburn Stables will consign BACHELOR LAD (116) who won a Bumper at the first time of asking. PAINT THE CLOUDS (84) is another with a big future and is catalogued from Thorndale Farm having won both of his starts in Bumpers whilst ON BORROWED WINGS (35) won at Wexford before running a close second at Bellestown and Killarney and be sold by Woodview Stables.
