Thisthatandtother, the winner of three races this season including Saturday's Wilton Mens Open, heads the 25 entries for the Avon Vale Mixed Open at Larkhill this Saturday, 27th March.

Other candidates include course specialist and 2007 winner Trade Off, Carrie On, who got the better of Southwestern in a tactical three-runner contest at Ottery St Mary, Rosemary Gasson's Jolly Boys Outing and Merry Vic, winner of six of his last seven races but well beaten by Thisthatandtother here in February.

Napolitain followed a fine third at Charlton Horethorne by taking the Mendip Farmers Mens Open on Sunday and must be respected if making a quick reappearance. Thisthatandtother is the selection, but Napolitain may give the 14-year-old a run for his money.

The Connolly's Red Mills Intermediate has attracted 17 Entries, including Ghonny Withthebowe who made all the running and just lasted home here at the New Forest meeting. Different Trades, winner of two of his last three races and upsides when falling at the last here, Cothelstone winner Wynbrook, One Cool Knight, unbeaten in two outings this season and Ston Easton winner Kings Bitter will also be supported.

Civil Disobedience is unbeaten in two outings to date, but may find it hard to cope with Cappoquin, a dual Larkhill winner this season and a good runner-up to Ask Again, with Napolitain and Royal Auclair in arrears, in the Blackmore & Sparkford Vale Hunt race.

Mr Hudson and The Partalonian stand out in the 20-entry Restricted race; Mr Hudson looked beaten when blundering two out here in February before sprinting up the straight to collar subsequent winner Vintage Class close home. The Partalonian has been absent since sauntering home here under former Champion Richard Burton 14 months ago, but is fancied to make a winning reappearance.

Outnumbered was a good second at the Army meeting and may get the better of the consistent Allerford Jack in the young horse Maiden. Ataraxia has been placed in four of her last six races and can gain a deserved triumph in the older horse contest.

Scrappie stayed on strongly to take second behind Commander Vic at the New Forest and looks the one for the Hunt race.

Two pony races - qualifiers for the Wessex Series Final at Larkhill on 30th May - take place prior to the Point-to-Point races from 12.00noon.

The course is found just NW of Amesbury on Salisbury Plain, easily reached off the A303 or A345. First race: 1.30pm (Pony racing 12.00noon). Admission charges are £15 per car and driver, £5 each additional occupant.
