The Bedale Point-to-Point takes place at Hornby Castle on Sunday 10th April. 124 entries have been received for the seven race card and the Maiden race has already been divided.

The first race is the Confined Conditions race which gets underway at 1.00 pm. This is restricted to horses that have not won a race under the rules of any recognised racing authority other than Point-to-Points, or an Open race. The likely winner is Go Moss Go who put in a great display at the recent Badsworth & Bramham Moor meeting.

The Hunts Members race will be run with horses that are qualified with both the Bedale and the West of Yore. Lewesdon Tom has been progressing nicely through the Point-to-Point ranks and there is no reason why he shouldn't take this race.

The most entries have been received for the Ladies Open race and 18 are entered in the Mens Open, which looks very competitive.

Hornby Castle provides a beautiful setting for the Point-to-Point and there is no better view than the horses running up hill towards the castle. Most of the course can be seen although it can be improved if the spectators are happy to move during the race. The postcode for satellite navigation is DL8 1NQ.

Admission is £25 per car, but two or less adult occupants are £10 each. Racegoers can walk in for £10. Please note The A1 between Leeming and Dishforth is likely to be closed both ways between 6 pm on Saturday 9th April and 1 pm on Sunday 10th April. Anyone planning to use this route is likely to experience disruption so please leave plenty of time to account for any diversions that may be in place.
