09 March 2010 Important Notice - Cheltenham Foxhunters

The BHA has asked us to publicise the following important information for staff accompanying Foxhunter horses into Cheltenham Racecourse Stables during the festival.
- Suitable means of personal (photo) identification must be produced by the horse`s attendant(s) (up to a maximum of 3) and shown to the British Horseracing Authority Stable Security Officer prior to entering the Cheltenham racecourse stabling area.
- The attendant(s) must sign the Stable Register prior to entering the Racecourse Stabling Area.
- In addition to the standard photo ID that is required to enter the stabling area; for the Festival meeting any owner or non-licensed trainer running a horse in the Hunter Chase race will be required to notify the British Horseracing Authority's Integrity Service Department with the three names of the persons attending with the horse. This can be done by contacting the Integrity Service Department on 02071520180 or by faxing Cheltenham Racecourse Stables 01242 224227. Notification must be completed no later than 48-hours before the start of the race. Failure to comply with this request may result in refusal of entry to the Stabling area and/or referral to the Racecourse Stewards.
NB The above procedures do not apply if the runner is trained by a licensed or permitted trainer and a Racecourse Attendants Identity Card and the Validity Pass have already been issued by the British Horseracing Authority's Licensing Department for the use by the horse's attendant.
