The Cheshire Hunt have attracted 126 entries for their fixture between the flags at Alpraham, Nr Tarporley this Sunday, which is an increase of 11% on the corresponding meeting last year.

The popular Cheshire fixture also stages the feature race in the North Western area, which is the Scally Muire Trophy, worth £500 in prize money. Each season all the hunts in the area have the option of staging the race and they can then decide which race that they want the Scally Muire Trophy to feature in. The Cheshire Hunt have opted for the PPORA Club Members race.

The Scally Muire Trophy race has attracted an entry of 23. This looks a quality race headed by Gunner Jack, trained by David Easterby. His charge has won all three starts this season, and looked impressive last time out at Charm Park when beating Madison de Vonnas by six lengths. Also entered is My Flora from the Sheila Crow yard; the Alflora mare has not been extended to win her last two races at Garnons and Sandon. Master Billy, trained by Richard Mathias in South Wales, won his Members race at Llanfrynach by a fence and a half. Others with winning form to note include Banbury Babe, History Master, Nosey Gunner and The Howardian, so a really good race is in prospect for the area feature race.

Racing comes under starters orders at 2.00pm with the Members and is set to conclude at 5.30pm with the Open Maiden race over two and a half miles.

Admission to this popular Cheshire course is only £20 per car, regardless of the number of passengers, while single occupancy will be charged at £15.00.
