Nathos: the mount of Heather Kemp
After losing the last two meetings to the weather, hopes are high that the South East Point-to-Point season will regain its momentum at Catsfield, near Battle, this Sunday (April 13th).
Healthy entries look like bringing together most of this year's leading contenders, although top horse Bee An Bee (four wins since February) may be taken to Higham.
Provisional ground is soft, which will suit mud lovers Nathos and Carryonharry in the Ladies' Open where the opposition is likely to include Danaeve, Millenium Way and Persian King amongst a good quality field.
The Hunt race, with 16 entries, could feature up to five horses trained by Di Grissell. Leading Lady rider Heather Kemp will be aboard Nathos and is also booked for Sounds Good in the Restricted, while popular veteran Pete Bull rides Galapiat du Mesnil in the opener.
Stuart Robinson, clear in the Men's title race, rides Magnus Veritas in what looks set to be a hot Confined race. Marcus Gorman, who has most of his string lined up for hunter chases, plans to run Old Kilminchy in the Men's Open.
Catsfield racecourse is two miles south of Catsfield, east of the A269 from Bexhill to Ninfield. Admission prices are £20 per car (£10 for single occupancy, £5 for pedestrians) and the main card (2.00pm) is preceded by pony racing at 12.30pm.
