The final fixture of the Welsh Border Area Point-to-Point season at Bredwardine this Saturday (15th) promises to be a real firecracker.
The feature race of the day, the Brightwells Confined Championship worth £350 to the winner, has been the aim for many local Trainers and will undoubtedly be hotly competitive.
This Golden Valley Hunt meeting is also the day that the Area championships are finally decided; all the titles are proving to be cliff-hangers. The Leading Rider title has been a spirited battle all season between last year's Marden-based champion Rob Hodges and the flying Frenchman, Jeremy Mahot.
Both have a full book of rides at Bredwardine - there are sure to be to be sparks flying as the title is very important to both Riders. There is a similar situation for the Lady Riders, with Lorna Brooke currently leading Rachel Reynolds by a single point.
The Leading Horse situation is even closer, with three courageous performers in Hoh Nelson, Upton Legend and Worship The Stars tying at the top of the table at the moment.
The first race at the beautiful riverside course at Bredwardine (HR3 6DD) will be at 1.00pm on Saturday; the course can be found on the B4352, between Hereford and Hay-on-Wye.
Entrance to the course is £10, with children under 16 and car parking free.
