02 June 2011 Good news from the Hawkins Family

by Carolyn Tanner

There is encouraging news regarding the recovery of Richard Hawkins, who suffered head injuries in a Taunton fall in April.

His aunt, Fay Down, reported that, although he understandably still gets very tired, the last fortnight has seen significant progress, and yesterday (Wednesday) he had walked a few steps behind his wheelchair. His speech is also improving, and he has told Fay that he cannot wait to get back on a horse.

There has been no shortage of visitors, one of whom has been Rodi Greene, and his mother Trudy continues to stay at the hospital with him, while his girlfriend Lucy visits every day.
