18 March 2008 Hurworth - Hutton Rudby

Jimmys Duky: tipped to take the Hunt Members race

The Hurworth Hunt hold their annual Point-to-Point at Hutton Rudby on Saturday where they have a 6 race card starting at 1.00pm and have received 120 entries.

The 1st race is the Hunt Members race, and the two with the best form are Jimmys Duky, who was just touched off close home in a Dalston Maiden, and Nigel Tutty's Mandalay Bay. The former will relish the sharp Hurworth track, will be more at home on the better ground than he encountered at Dalston, and can win.

The Restricted has an entry of 17, and Oliver Greenall has the choice between Bow School, who won a Market Rasen Maiden, and The Fairhill Boy. Elusive swallow was progressive last year as a 5 year old, whilst Iron Warrior won easily at Welbeck for Pip Tutty. However, Bow School gets the vote.

The Ladies Open will be fast and furious and entries include Fiori, who will be all the better for his debut run at Dalston. Jockey Jacqueline Coward also has the option to ride Charlies Memory who was an easy winner at Charm Park. Duchess Account may bypass this meeting and wait for the Grimthorpe, but Mister Bromley, who looked back to his best on his debut 2nd, Texas Ranger, and Vingis Park, will ensure it will take some winning.

The Mens Open has an entry of 14 and there are several useful performers amongst these. Hunter chase winner Plutocrat, who won last year, may take his chance, and other prolific winners entered include Themanfromcarlisle and Scottish Raider Sleeping Night who won a Cheltenham Foxhunters in his time.

The Confined has 27 entered including recent winners Cop Howe, who is unbeaten in 2 runs this year and looks useful, Messager, who won his Maiden and Restricted without been asked a question, recent Brocklesby Park winner Monte Cristo, who gave Charlie Johnson his 1st winner, and Duggleby, who won on his debut at Dalston. So if all go to post it will be an interesting race.

The concluding Maiden race has 32 entered. Alisons Treasure has finished 2nd twice this year in Maidens and will surely score before the season ends, but the Oliver Greenall ridden Lord Gee can win from Alisons Treasure.

Selections: Members - Jimmys Duky; Restricted - Bow School; Ladies Open - Charlies Memory; Mens Open -   Themanfromcarlisle; Confined - Messager; Maiden - Lord Gee
