There will be a new face, but a familiar name, on the East Anglian scene this season when Jack Bloom, who will be 18 in December, makes his debut.
It is well over 50 years since his great-grandfather Jack, one of the outstanding pilots of his day, hung up his boots after a career which included a sixth place finish in the 1949 Grand National on his own Tonderman.
Since then, teenager Jack's grandfather Michael and father Nigel have both won the national title. Nigel retired in 2008, so is unlikely to make a comeback to ride against his son, but he admits "I'm really looking forward to schooling alongside him."
Jack has been given the lightly-raced The Painkiller, who was saddled by Nigel to score at Marks Tey in April, as a schoolmaster, and he also has recent purchase Omme Antique, who is still a maiden but has plenty of Chasing experience, having been placed over fences for Venetia Williams
