Weatherbys Chase are delighted to continue their sponsorship of the pointtopoint.co.uk Champion Novices' Hunters' Chase for the John Corbet Cup on Friday, as a classy maximum field was unveiled at declaration stage.

Amongst the 16 are the progressive Horsham Lad, who rattled off a Pointing hat-trick in the space of just over a month before justifying Hunter Chase favouritism in some style at Bangor; having been given a break since that run at the end of April, William & Angela Rucker's Muroto gelding may still have more improvement to come.

Alan Hill's More Trouble has provided his yard with several wins in Points and registered his first Hunter Chase win at Folkestone last time, but on the best of his form he may still have a little to find with the likes of Mad Victor, a seven-time Pointing winner who unseated when running well in Hunter Chase company at Cheltenham last time.

Also running is Glacial Call, one of the leading names in the PPORA / pointtopoint.co.uk Young Horse Awards throughout the season and winner of the Exeter Intermediate Final Hunter Chase after having made a hugely successful transition from hurdling to Point-to-Pointing.

Teeton Bollinger is undeniably a difficult ride but is a talented individual and runs for Trainer / Breeder Joan Tice having won at Folkestone last time, whilst Lisadell King lost little in following home the evergreen Take The Stand at Aintree last time and prior to that run had landed three Hunter Chases, with the only aberration being when he pulled up at Leicester between wins. Unbeaten in Point-to-Points, he would be a hugely popular winner for his admirable veteran Owner / Trainer Godfrey Maundrell.

Irish form is represented by Good Egg, who only has a Maiden win to his name but who ran a fine race when third in the Champion Hunters' Chase at the Punchestown Festival behind the potentially very useful young winner On The Fringe, whilst Horsham Lad's Trainer Fergal O'Brien has another good chance with Conolley's Red Mills Intermediate Final victor Bradley, who won that Hunter Chase with a bold late run which saw him collar the useful William Somers on the line.
