CAPPOQUIN: Completed a career century for Will Biddick in the Mens Open

Will Biddick completed a career century at Bratton Down on Sunday when taking the Men's Open on Richard Barber's Cappoquin.

His tally includes 28 successes under Rules, some of which were achieved during his 12-month stint as a Conditional when based with Venetia Williams.

Will is currently lying third in the national title race, six behind Richard Burton, and although he still has several rides in the offing he admits that it will be hard to peg back the leader.

If there was ever superstition in Camilla Cotton's life it will have been banished by her first victory. 18-year-old Camilla won the Conditions race at Bangor on Sunday on Rajam, her 13th ride and her mount's 97th outing.

Rajam is owned by trainer Jo Messenger with Camilla's mother Diana, who was unable to be present at Bangor as she was busy fulfilling her duty to the Pytchley Pony Club, for whom she is District Commissioner. Camilla herself has enjoyed success in Pony Club eventing, and has three eventers to campaign during the summer.

Both her mother and her grandparents, Guy and Margaret Wrathall, rode between the flags, and Camilla, who has been riding out for Stuart Morris during the season, is hoping for more opportunities in 2012. She already has a new partner waiting in the wings in the shape of the ex-Nicky Henderson-trained Morcambe.
