MY OLD PIANO: stripped of a sixth win

Champion rider Thomas Greenall, who moved ahead of his brother Oliver's record 56 wins in a season after a BHA Disciplinary Panel hearing promoted Amalfi Storm to first place in the Hurworth Restricted, is back level with his younger sibling after My Old Piano was disqualified from a success at Garthorpe in late May.
In a hearing on July 16th, the Disciplinary Panel disqualified the David Easterby-trained gelding from first place in the Meynell & South Staffordshire Intermediate after it came to light that he had failed to carry a 5lb penalty for a previous Confined race success.
The owner, Mr Tom Bannister, was fined £150 and the race was awarded to the James Turcan-ridden Carbon Footprint.
Last month, Greenall had briefly moved onto the 57 winner mark after it came to light that the winner of the Hurworth Restricted race on March 21st, Cnocan Aoibhinn, had failed a dope test. The Lucinda Sutcliffe-ridden eight-year-old was disqualified and Greenall's mount in that race, Amalfi Storm, was promoted to first place.
