29 June 2011 Foray into the Flat for Chris at Catterick
by Carolyn Tanner
Chris Dawson, currently sidelined with a dislocated hip (see Injury Updates), is looking forward to a day out at Catterick.
Today (Wednesday) he will have his first ever runner on the flat, when the home-bred two-year-old Dapper's Dancer, trained by David O'Meara, makes his debut. Chris has organised a syndicate of owners, and although a victory is not expected, the social aspect should make up for the anticipated lack of prize money!
The experience, however, may not be quite so enjoyable for Dapper's Dancer's rider Robert Winston. "The silks he'll be wearing were made to fit me, so he could look a bit daft in them!" grinned Chris.
