The second meeting in the Devon and Cornwall area this weekend is hosted by Upcott Cross, where the South Tetcott meeting takes place on Bank Holiday Monday. Clerk of Course Dave Willis has been watering since Monday and expects the going to be good to firm.

"We had a good drop of rain on Monday and we'll keep watering right through the week. We have a superb covering of grass and we expect the going to be safe."

Eight races begin at 2pm with the Members Race a walkover for Roll On Rose which is the concluding race of the day at 6.15pm.

The mare, trained by John Heard who farms the land on which the Point-to-Point takes place, could score two wins on the day as she also has entries in the Confined and Novice Riders Race. She has some decent form under her belt and a win at Flete has been franked by second placed Turtle Tim's subsequent win at Bratton Down. The opening Confined Race looks the easier option with just seven entries in the race.

Next up is the Mens Open and, as always at the course, it looks a competitive race with Cappoquin, Flanshan, Paddy The Piper and Prince De Bersy among the entries.

Sericina hasn't run since the Christie's Foxhunters at Cheltenham Festival and if she lines up for the Ladies Open could face Innocent Rebel, who ran well to finish second in a hunter chase at Cheltenham's Hunter Chase Meeting before unseating at Newton Abbot last week, and Miss Midnight, a winner of four races this season.

The Richard Barber-trained Apple A Night won a Maiden at the course in April and could follow up in the Restricted, and the Giles Hawkins-trained Holcombe Hitman could add to his Maiden success at Holnicote.

Barneys Mate was beaten by Philip Prince on Preacher Boy at Bratton Down at the weekend but he'll be a warm order to make amends in the Novice Riders race. However, Prince could be on board Vote For Doodle who has won five starts this season.

Ever popular with trainers, the Maiden has been divided with 53 entries in total.

Entrance is £20 per car and the course is situated two miles south of Halwill Junction off the A3079, postcode EX21 5AE.
