MAD JACK DUNCAN: progressive youngster entered in the Confined
South Midland action this weekend comes from the ever popular Kimble which is one of the oldest courses in the country and will celebrate its centenary in 2012.
Kimble is situated off the B4009 Chinor to Aylesbury road, postcode HP17 8TB.
Racing gets underway at 1pm with the Confined race, best of the entries look to be Buckby Lane and Bon Accord, however these also both hold entries in the Mens Open. Without either of this pair the improving Mad Jack Duncan, who has won both his Maiden and Restricted this season at Cottenham, could add to his tally. Charm Of Gold has similar credentials having won at Didmarton then at Hackwood and it would be no surprise to see his bid to further climb the ladder be a success.
Home By Midnight, winner of the Ladies Open here in 2008, will be bidding to reverse the placings with Balladeer, from when they recently clashed at Kingston Blount. An interesting entry is Jumbul Sale, who has top form in Mens Opens, notably when beating Twenty Degrees at Woodford back in 2007. If returning to his best, carrying less weight could suit him and he certainly holds each way claims.
Desert Tommy will be bidding to keep up his recent run of good form; soft conditions are the key to this horse so with a wet forecast ahead he will hopefully run a big race.
Chilling Place who won at Whitfield recently will be bidding to make it win number three for the season in the Mens Open event. The Alan Hill trained duo, Bon Accord and More Trouble, also hold entries; it will be fascinating to see how the latter upgrades to Open company having won many of his races so comfortably, but if Bon Accord returns to his very best he will surely take all the beating.
Unoitmakessense will be remembered for the dramatic style in which he won at Whitfield two weeks ago, barring any jumping errors he looks to be the one to beat in the Restricted. Others to note are another Whitfield winner Dan Maguire, the ever consistent If You Must, Sky Hole who won impressively at Brafield on Sunday and Bynack Mhor who was third at Kingston Blount three weeks ago. The last named may appreciate the stiffer test of stamina that Kimble offers.
With two pony races after the last race it is sure to be an action packed fun filled day for all the family. There will be between 30 and 40 trade stands and plenty of hot and cold refreshments to choose from. Entrance is £20 unreserved, £30 reserved, £10 single occupancy and £5 pedestrians. Allow plenty of time to get in as a large Easter crowd is expected.
