The Vale of Lune Hunt stage a good competitive days racing between the flags at Whittington, near Kirby Lonsdale on Easter Saturday April 11th 2009, which has attracted 90 entries for their popular Easter fixture.

As an incentive and as a token of gratitude to the owners and trainers that regularly support this meeting, the Vale Of Lune will be refunding the £20 entry fee to the connections of all the declared runners at the course.

Racing comes under starters orders at 2.00pm and is set to conclude at 5.10pm. Clerk of the course Chris Hodgkinson lists the going as Good to Soft on Sunday April 5th 2009.

The Mens Open has attracted a quality entry of 17, which is headed by the David Easterby trained Pristine Condition, who was a very impressive winner at the Cheshire meeting at Alpraham when beating Geeveem on the bit by 10 lengths. Opio, also trained by David Easterby for Radio 5 presenter Cornelius Lysaght, won at Flagg last season and has claims on that win. Also amongst the entries are the first to horses past the judge in last year's contest - Ask Bobby and Lord Who.

The Vale of Lune will be having a parade of their hounds at around 3.20pm, this event is very popular with the younger generation who love to go into the parade ring and mingle with the hounds.
