Phillip York: run of good form continued
Rider Phillip York's run of good form continued at the Vine & Craven meeting at Barbury Racecourse on Saturday with a double.
As predicted last week, he enjoyed an easy victory on Dante's Storm in the Confined and followed up an hour later with Nun On The Run in the first division of the Maiden.
This brings York's total for the season to nine, just two adrift of joint leaders on the National Table, Oliver Greenall and James Tudor.
Racing was put back one hour to allow frost to come out of the ground and the organisers were rewarded with a total of 83 runners in the six races.
The Members race was a walkover for Wenceslas, whose only rival Theatre Call was withdrawn because his owner/rider Godfrey Maundrell was injured in a fall earlier in the day. Maundrell was taken to hospital with mild concussion but was discharged the same evening.
