Victor Thompson's Indian Print has been crowned the PPORA/pointtopoint.co.uk Champion Young Horse for the 2009/10 Point-to-Point season
The Percy-qualified six-year-old rattled off a sequence of seven straight wins under Tristan Davidson in the Northern Area, which culminated in a Mens Open success at Aspatria on May 8th, amassing a total of 64 points in the process.
His closest challenger was the Banwen Miners-qualified seven-year-old Warsaw Pact on 52 points, who raced no less than nine times during the season, winning thrice and finishing second on a further four occasions. Back in third on 48 points were Peter Russell's six-time winner Quinder Spring and the progressive Yorkshire mare Poppy Day, winner of this season's Grimthorpe Gold Cup.
Indian Print's success in the Awards earns his Owner/Trainer a cheque for £1000 and a trophy worth £350, both of which will be presented at the PPORA Awards Luncheon at Stratford-on-Avon on Friday, May 28th. The thirteen other Area Award winners all receive a trophy value £250.
