21 April 2010 Preview: York & Ainsty - Easingwold

The York & Ainsty Hunts hold their Point-to-Point at Easingwold on Sunday 25th April.
188 entries have been received for the eight race card and the four, five, six and seven-year-olds Maiden race has been split at entry stage. The largest race is the Confined race with 34 entries.
The first race is the Hunts Members race and Oojar was very impressive when winning his Maiden race at Brocklesby Park in March; he looks progressive.
Both the Mens and Ladies Open races have received very good, competitive entries. The ground is going the right way for Blanding's Castle, so he could come into his element now. Well Presented has been running very well this year and Wilfie Wild, who won on Sunday at the Cleveland, is in the form of his life and can put up another bold show.
The Mens race again has very high calibre entries, Amicelli, Bow School and Quechua Des Obeaux have been running very well this season, but this course and ground suits Brown's Beck who is making his seasonal reappearance.
The postcode for satellite navigation is YO61 3PS and the first race is scheduled for 2.00 pm. Admission is £10 per person.
There is a good view of the majority of the course but a couple of fences are hidden from view of the main crowd, however the commentator has a hoist which affords him a better view and keeps the racegoers up to date. There is also a champagne tent and plenty of food! The groundstaff are monitoring the weather but will water if necessary.
