The Zetland Hunt Point-to-Point takes place at Witton Castle on Monday 2nd May. A total of 97 entries have been received for the six race card and racing gets underway at 2.00 pm with the Hunt Members Race. Three unregistered horses are among the ten entries, which allows true amateurs to take part.
Fifteen horses are entered in the Restricted race, with the four recent winners Arty Farmer, Forge Valley, Oriel Bank and Saddlers MOT likely to be in the shakeup.
The Ladies Open Race looks very competitive; Cottam Phantom tends to hit form towards the end of the season, whilst Charlies Memory and Impact Zone both ran creditably on Monday at Charm Park. Keeverfield is running consistently well for his owner/trainer/rider Sam Drake, but victory could be clinched by On Y Va, who is due for a win.
The Open Maiden Race has seen 33 potential entrants step up to the plate, which could easily lead to a division on the day.
The course has excellent viewing being set in a natural amphitheatre, and the majority of the course, apart from the start which is hidden by trees, can be seen from the hillside. The postcode for satellite navigation is DL14 0DE. Admission is £10 per person and accompanied under 16's are admitted free.
